Mission Statement

Vision: To gather the leaders and delegates from the diocesan level of the Young Adult Ministry to promote God-pleasing worship in our churches, to encourage evangelical witness on the part of our dioceses and parishes, to selflessly serve God and our brothers and sisters, and to enjoy together the fellowship of Divine Love.

Purpose: The chosen and appointed diocesan representatives who constitute the North American Council intend to inspire and motivate the dioceses, parishes and people we serve, to carry out the works of the Church today and to raise up excellent leaders for her future.

Vision: To develop and coordinate ministry programs whose scope extends beyond the capacities of a single diocese.

The Young Adult Ministry (YAM) is a group of leaders who come together at one table to develop and administer programs, projects, and activities that are intended to help our parish find ways to fulfill its true calling in Christ. The YAM is therefore a catalyst for action in three areas:

  1. Unity
  2. Missions, Outreach and Evangelism
  3. Spiritual Renewal

Some of the activities the YAM supports or has itself developed include: mission trips, pan-Orthodox fellowship events at conferences, the production and dissemination of education materials about Church unity, the St. Philip’s Prayer Discipline program, young adult retreats, the Food for Hungry People program, the Creative Festivals, and the Oratorical and Bible Bowl Festivals. The YAM communicates opportunities for involvement through periodic bulletin inserts.

Our motto is “Living the Orthodox faith in Christ.” There are four basic rules, if you will, that we follow, and they are:

  1. Worship : Getting involved in God’s home.
  2. Witness : When we see something happen we preach about it.
  3. Service : Serve our community, volunteer our time.
  4. Fellowship : Getting together and having fun!
