About Fr. Mousa

Fr. Mousa Haddad was born the eldest of four children. His parents immigrated to the United States from Jordan making Chicago’s southwest side their new home.

Growing up, Father was very close to the church. He was baptized and raised at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Cicero, IL, serving in the Holy Altar from a very young age.

Father completed his elementary and high school education on Chicago’s southwest side. Upon Father’s graduation from high school, he began his four year undergraduate study at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.

While at the University of Illinois, Fr. Mousa was very involved in the Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF). It was during an OCF mission trip to Raphael House in San Francisco that he met his future wife Delia.

In the summer of 2003, upon graduation from the University of Illinois, Fr. Mousa returned to Chicago and married his wife, Delia. In the summer of 2004, Fr. Mousa and Delia moved to New York to attend St. Vladimir Orthodox Seminary. It was while they were in New York that God blessed them with two beautiful boys, Anthony and Philip. Throughout his three year stay at St. Vladimir’s, Fr. Mousa was attached to the Church of the Virgin Mary in Yonkers, NY.

Upon completion of his first year of studies, Fr. Mousa was ordained to the Holy Diaconate on June 26th, 2005 by His Grace, Bishop MARK at St. George in Cicero, IL. The following year, on March 26th, 2006, he was ordained to the Holy Priesthood at St. George in Cicero, again by the hand of His Grace, Bishop MARK.

In May of 2007, Fr. Mousa was assigned by His Eminence, Metropolitan PHILIP, as the pastor of St. Mary Orthodox Church in Palos Heights, IL, returning to his hometown of Chicago. In January of 2015, he was elevated to the dignity of Archpriest by His Eminence, Metropolitan JOSEPH. Fr. Mousa and his family are blessed with the love of the parishioners of St. Mary's, and he is dedicated to serving them with love.
